Water has the power to renew and to demolish. It cleanses, but can also annihilate all it touches. Water disrupts, obscures, and muffles, but can also bring clarity, order and life. It is the water line that decides what is seen and felt, and by who. Who is above and who is below. Who survives a flood and who doesn't. This series developed around the story of The Flood, specifically in the Torah. But as floods are written in many major cultural and religious texts, it reflects a larger idea that is relevant to larger human history. These are the wanderers, the soldiers, the ones left behind to find those perished and create a new world. They hold the burden of being chosen as they wade, heart in mouth, in the water that spared them with the possibility of more floods to come.
